Mr. Meier joined Verus in 2016 after having been with Strategic Investment Solutions since 1994. He provides investment advice to clients with respect to risk management, asset allocation, asset liability management, manager analysis and investment policy design. He has over 29 years of investment and consulting experience, working with all asset classes for a range of clients including public institutions, corporate defined benefit and defined contribution plans, endowments, foundations and ultra-high net worth trusts. He also is a member of the firm’s alternative investments committee.
Mr. Meier is a frequent speaker at investment industry events on the topics performance benchmarking, global, multi-asset portfolio performance attribution, industry performance standards, manager evaluation and selection and asset allocation. His articles on investing have been published in Pensions and Investments, Futures, Risk and Quantitative International Investing. Mr. Meier has also been a senior product manager at Barra, and a chemical engineer at The Standard Oil Company.
Mr. Meier previously volunteered for the CFA Institute as a member of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) Executive Committee, Technical Committee and Asset Owner Subcommittee. He also served on the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) advisory council for eight years. He is a CFA charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst) and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco. Mr. Meier earned a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) with an emphasis in finance from the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor of science (BS) degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University.
