Michael Kamell, CFA, CAIA

Mr. Kamell provides a broad range of tailored investment consulting solutions to institutional clients to assist them in achieving their long-term investment goals. He is also a member of the Verus investment committee and a shareholder of the firm. Mr. Kamell has extensive experience and expertise across virtually every major asset owner segment and plan type, from fortune 500 corporations sponsoring defined benefit and defined contribution plans, to state and local public pensions, to multi-billion dollar multi-employer trust funds, as well as not-for-profit foundations and operating portfolios. Mr. Kamell is a regular speaker at industry conferences and provides thought leadership with respect to the firm’s liability-driven investment (LDI) efforts, having authored multiple white papers on the subject. Mr. Kamell excels at collaborating with asset owners to deliver comprehensive and unique solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of his client’s investment programs.

Prior to joining Verus in 2010, Mike began his career in assurance services at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco. As a senior associate, he conducted due diligence on a wide range of investment products across both public and private markets.

Mr. Kamell graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in business economics with an emphasis in accounting. He holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (inactive), is a CFA charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst), and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Phoenix. Mr. Kamell is also a CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) charterholder.
