Operations Analyst – Seattle

Verus is in search of a self-motivated individual to join our downtown Seattle office. Candidates should be organized, good at creative problem solving and have the ability to exercise judgement and formulate opinions.

The Operations Analyst role will report to the Senior Associate Director I Operations and provide integral support to the discretionary operations group in the daily administration and trading of discretionary and non-discretionary client accounts, conducting operational due diligence on external managers and general operational and administration functions. The individual in the role will be involved in and expected to contribute to the continued buildout and development of the discretionary management platform to include efficiencies and improvement with processes, systems and administration. The individual will be expected to be proactive and work in a collaborative team environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide integral operational support to the Portfolio management team by delivering key operational functions:
    • Data integrity and validation
    • Trade administration including submission, reconciliation and validation
    • Cash reconciliation and monitoring
    • Managing the third-party manager subscription and funding process
  • Direct involvement with the implementation and management of the technology platforms utilized for discretionary accounts.
  • Contribution to the development and improvement of discretionary management processes and all facets of the offering, including ways to better utilize current technology and integrate new systems into the current processes.
  • Consultant trade directive support. Review of consultant generated trade execution material for validation and accuracy. Processing of trades for execution with select accounts.
  • Operational Due Diligence reviews. Conduct the initial operational assessment of external managers to ensure the manager’s operational and compliance processes and back office processes are in line with best practices and of institutional quality.

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2-3 of years related work experience in investment operations and/or a trading group.
