During the Verus 4th Quarter Investment Landscape, we discussed:
• A large divide between what the current state of the economy is, and how many investors feel it ought to be. Despite the shift in U.S. trade policy, quarterly economic growth remains fairly strong, inflation effects from tariffs are muted, and businesses broadly report stable conditions.
• U.S. equities produced the best third quarter since 2020, reaching multiple new all-time highs. Substantial investments in artificial intelligence fueled optimism (but also some skepticism), while strong earnings guidance and hopes for a series of Federal Reserve rate cuts helped lift equity prices.
• Rich valuations across domestic equities and credit and what this might mean for future long-term returns. Is this time different?
